The USAID-funded Networks for Peace project recently brought together youth champions from Cambodia, Burma, Lao PDR, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the Tibetan exile community in India to promote regional harmony at the Youth Beyond Borders workshop in Bangkok. USAID Asia Mission Director Dr. Steven G. Olive told inspiring stories of his youth and how it shaped the professional he is today. “What an incredible sight to see young leaders from all over the region come together with the same purpose,” Mission Director Olive remarked. Through his presentation, he encouraged the youth to reflect on a defining moment in their life while continuing to be their authentic self. Although these youth come from all different walks of life, one common thread is wanting to build their communities for a better, prosperous life. The Youth Beyond Borders program has started their journey becoming one step closer to future regional peacebuilders !!!USAID
